Season & offseason

Waivers & free agency

Blind bids from cap space in season; a slow auction in the offseason.

Free agents cost cap space — there's no separate FAAB wallet in Capr. Your bid on a player becomes his contract salary, which means every claim is a roster decision and a budget decision at once.

In-season waivers

In season, waivers run as continuous FAAB-style bidding by default: any unrostered player can be claimed at any time by submitting a blind bid from your cap space. Claims sit for a 24-hour window by default (leagues can use 48) and process on the league's schedule — noon ET is the default, and commissioners can set one or several processing days per week.

In-season bids are always blind. You see that a player has pending claims, never what anyone offered. Winning bids resolve Vickrey-style — the winner pays just above the second-highest bid (minimum increment: 1 by default) rather than their own maximum, so bidding your true value never means overpaying by accident.

Offseason free agency

The offseason free agency phase is a bigger event. It runs as a slow auction that works like eBay: players are nominated, teams bid openly with proxy bids over days, and anti-snipe timers extend the clock on late bids.

Bid visibility is configurable in the offseason — by default all offseason auction bids are visible, which makes the market a spectator sport. In season, bids stay blind no matter what.
